"How do I manage my school's security compliance (SEVIS)?"
Our Homeland Security Compliance service will help you review the content, structure, and outcomes of your school’s existing Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) and Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).
What We Do
Your school’s international student program requires great attention to detail to safeguard the well-being of your school, as well as that of your international and domestic students.
ISM’s two-day consultation is designed to help administrators and faculty members examine and address challenges in operating your existing International Student Program. This includes compliance with the Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) and navigating the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).
This service is led by ISM Consultant Jacqueline M. Yamada. Jacqui has more than 25 years of experience in education, serving most recently as Director of International Programs and Principal Designated School Official (PDSO) at the Rocky Hill School, RI.
Before the onsite visit, Jacqui administers the ISM International Student Questionnaire to your school’s administrators. She then analyzes the results, in addition to your school’s:
- International and domestic admission criteria
- Enrollment procedures
- Document protocols with enrollment
- Parent/student handbooks
- Contracts with international families, host families, and agents (if applicable)
- History and length of international program
On arriving at your school, Jacqui will spend two days helping administrators and teachers understand how to comply with SEVP and navigate SEVIS. She will cover the admission and enrollment process, on-boarding procedures, and other programmatic areas that are essential to the existing International Student Program.
Jacqui will also highlight conversations needed among your enrollment management, administrative, and academic leadership teams to establish policies and protocols for systematic support of your International Student Program.
Benefit to You
International programs continue to gain popularity and many schools have applied for and received SEVP certification over the past few years.
However, in a hasty scramble to meet compliance, some schools find themselves with access to a portal they don’t fully understand, responsible for policies they’re vaguely familiar with, and misaligned with other key administrators at their schools.
Bring clarity to your program and ensure its continued growth and success. ISM’s personalized consultation includes a deep dive into your current program, detailed remedies for any issues, and an action plan to ensure your international program is purposeful, thoughtful, and student-centered.
