Does our database work for—or against—our fundraising success?
Your goal: maximize fundraising productivity
A wise next step: Database Management Analysis
Over time, it’s easy for a database to lose its sharp edge. Personnel turnover, lack of training, or software changes can all have an impact on the clarity and completeness of your records. And without trackable, up-to-date information, you’re missing an essential fundraising tool.
When you can rely on your database to communicate fundraising progress and identify future opportunities, you can take a truly strategic approach. You’re able to generate an accurate “picture” of each donor—connections to the school, interests, and giving history. That allows you to develop personalized strategies that get donors excited and involved, individually and collectively.
What We Do
ISM’s approach to a Database Management Analysis is highly customized for your school. A basic analysis and clean-up can usually be conducted remotely, with the ISM Consultant having access to the database and working closely with your development personnel. Other key administrators (e.g., Business Manager, IT Director) are involved as needed. The Consultant may also recommend on-site work to clean up inaccurate data or train those directly involved with maintaining the database.
Benefit to You
The goal of this consultation is to ensure that the school has a well-organized, up-to-date database, and that school personnel are in a position to maintain its accuracy. A report with clear instructions and screen shots is provided for reference.
You’ll be able to answer, accurately and with confidence, key questions about your donor base:
- Which donors increase their contributions, year after year?
- How many ways is this donor involved in our school (parent, current donor, alumnus, volunteer)?
- How effectively have we identified our alumni (graduates and non-graduates)?
- Who should we add to our list of prospective major donors?
Then you’ll use this information to develop personalized strategies for matching donors’ interests with your school’s mission.
