ISM’s FAST Financial Aid System Approved by Arkansas Activities Association
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—September 30, 2011
Private-independent schools in Arkansas can now make precision financial aid decisions now that FAST powered by ISM has been approved for use by the Arkansas Activities Association (ahsaa.org). AHSAA is the sanctioning body for high school sports in Arkansas, setting the rules for all public and nearly all private schools in the state competing in interscholastic sports.
FAST—Financial Aid for School Tuition—set the standard online financial aid processing and awarding for private-independent schools nationwide, allowing schools to fine-tune applications, take local cost-of-living into consideration, and make mission-appropriate award decisions. FAST is the product of Independent School Management (ISM) in Wilmington, DE, the worldwide leader in private-independent school management research and consulting.
“We are very pleased that ASHAA has given FAST their stamp of approval, and written us into the bylaws,” said Brian Fulmer, Director of FAST and the system’s developer. “We are looking forward to working with Arkansas private schools to help them make the best possible award decisions—the best decisions for their missions while putting their available dollars to families who need it most.”
Fulmer and other FAST field representatives are currently on tour, inviting financial aid managers to free luncheons around that country that feature an in depth presentation of FAST with plenty of time for questions and answers.

FAST is powered by ISM, a family-owned and operated business founded by a former private school Head. For the past 36 years, ISM’s primary goal has been to help private-independent schools advance their missions through sound, research-driven management strategies. FAST was developed with this goal in mind, providing a fair and equitable need-analysis system that incorporates school and student family needs in order to make accurate financial aid award decisions. FAST helps educational institutions fulfill their mission, fill seats, and make the best possible student award decisions on a case-by-case basis.
ISM has worked with private-independent schools to advance their management, governance, and sustainability since 1975. The firm works annually with 1,200 schools nationwide. ISM services include on-site consulting, workshops, advisory publications, risk management and employee benefits, podcasts, presentations for associations and conferences, and the FAST financial aid program.
