You may have heard of the book Acceptance: A Novel by Susan Coll. Now it's being turned into a made-for-TV movie on Lifetime Television, premiering August 22. Tune in, sit back, and see how closely the small-screen version matches the people in your school!

Nina Rockefeller (played by Joan Cusack) is determined to get her daughter, Taylor (Mae Whitman), into a top college. Mom's goal is to have her offspring snag an appropriate husband. When overachiever Taylor decides that a less-lofty school is the right one for her, fireworks ensue. Meanwhile, Taylor's two best friends are doing whatever it takes to get accepted to their first-choice schools.

According to the plot synopsis, "Together, the three friends and their modern-day, dysfunctional families navigate SAT scores, campus visits, and school applications as they try to remain sane during the highly competitive process of college admissions that most American families with high school kids have to face." Sounds like an evening of "must-see TV," right?
