Advancement Academy Leader | Director of Marketing and Communications at The Providence Country Day School

Greg provides expertise in the areas of school branding and storytelling to engage audiences and cause impact across communities.

Current Role

As a member of ISM’s Advancement Team, Greg acts as an instructor and mentor during Advancement Academy to help advancement professionals perfect their internal and external communications strategies.

Greg Abel joined the ISM Advancement Academy faculty in 2015. Greg is the Director of Communications at the Providence Country Day School (PCD) in East Providence, Rhode Island. PCD is a private middle and high school, founded in 1923. It serves approximately 200 students in grades 6 through 12 and has been co-ed since 1991. Greg oversees the school’s branding and messaging initiatives, along with the day-to-day management of all external marketing and internal communications. His work utilizes storytelling in a manner that is engaging and has institution-wide impact.

Greg has also presented at national education conferences, including NAIS and CASE-NAIS, on creating exciting engagement points within school communities.

Prior Experience

Previously, Greg was the Director of Marketing and Communications at Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School, a Boston-area day and boarding school with 175 students in grades 9-12. Prior to living in New England, Greg was a Communications Technology teacher for high school students in Delaware. Greg is a graduate of Virginia Tech, and holds masters’ degrees in education; specifically, School Counseling and School Administration.

Before living in New England, Greg was a Communications Technology teacher for high school students in Delaware.
