A: What is possible from a legal standpoint (such as seeking a cease-and-desist order or injunction against the offending former employee) and what is prudent from a public relations standpoint (i.e., going on the attack, defending your school, or remaining silent) may be two very different things. ISM is not a law firm, so we cannot advise you on your range of options legally.

However, as a private-independent school consulting firm that is very concerned with helping schools uphold their reputation with their community, we are very concerned about reputation as the primary marketing asset of the school. Therefore, we urge you to consult with qualified legal counsel on this matter—and to weigh your options carefully with regard to the overall best interests of the school.
