Beyond the Chatbot: AI Use Cases to Build Schoolwide AI Literacy

Artificial intelligence in schools is no longer just about text generation — its real power lies in perceptual systems, embodied agents, adaptive models, and human-AI co-design. In this example-rich webinar, Dr. Maggie Renken will unpack practical machine learning, sensor-driven, and robotic applications for preK–12 classrooms and school operations, from computer vision and audio processing to smart devices, autonomous agents, and intelligent learning systems.

Framed by the ISM AI Readiness Framework and tied to the OECD AI Literacy dimensions (Understand, Create, Design, Manage), the session will highlight how faculty, staff, and students can deepen not just tool use, but thinking around AI: how it perceives, how it acts, and how we govern it ethically. Participants will see a variety of demo use cases, reflect on design and governance tradeoffs, and leave with hands-on examples and exploration paths to continue learning after the webinar.
